The components of the frontier psychological readiness of the border guard to the decision in crisis situations are determined as: cognitive, motivational, reflexive, emotional-volitional, professional-activity. The criteria of the psychological readiness of the border guard to make decisions in crisis situations as (value-motivational, procedural, personality-reflexive), indicators and levels (high, medium, low) formation of psychological readiness for decision-making in crisis situations are outlined. The algorithm of decision making by the border guard in crisis conditions is outlined and it is established that the personality factor influencing the readiness to make a decision in a crisis situation is as follows: level of aggressiveness, anxiety, self-confidence, conflict, etc. It is stressed that the presence of an insufficiently trained specialist in crisis situations can be dangerous for his psychological and physical health. The crisis situation may cause a change in the perception of the subject of the world, lead to a decrease in the psychological security of the individual, creating an emotional load and, in more difficult cases, a psychological trauma. The study describes the conditions that are inherent in a poorly trained specialist who is in a psychological and traumatic situation: numbness, crippling reactions, capitulation, etc. The conditions of decision-making in a crisis situation are presented: quantity, accuracy, objectivity, speed of updating of information, high probability of error, conditions of life threatening, high stress-relatedness, analysis, synthesis, information processing in a stressful state, uncertainty and poor predictability of the result, anxiety, stress , acute mental stress, shortage or excessive time. The stages and structure of decision-making have been determined and the decision is made that the decision-making in a crisis situation depends on objective sources of information, personal characteristics of a specialist, his experience and psychological readiness. The main requirements for the professionalism of the border guard are outlined: "knowledge of their official duties; high level of practical knowledge, skills, abilities; ability to manage subordinate personnel at a high level; adequate level of psychological training, ability to control modern equipment and weapons; ability to work with the local population; sound knowledge in the field of law; Sufficient physical qualities and so on. Personality-professional characteristics of the psychological readiness of the border guard to work in crisis situations are revealed. It was determined that decision making by the border guard in a crisis situation depends to a large extent on his personality characteristics: intelligence, adaptability to a crisis situation, reduced anxiety, high stress resistance, ability to manage his own mental states, and others like that. It has been determined that professional adaptation is one of the most important indicators of assessing the readiness of the future frontier guards to work in crisis conditions. The indicators of psychological unpreparedness of future border guards for decision making in a crisis situation and the main problems in preparing future border guards in higher educational institutions are determined. The syllabuses of the psychological cycle disciplines are analyzed and the problem is identified.
