The thesis reveals the problem of training of future teachers in preschool educational institutions for the use of poetry in the process of artistic and speech activity. Due to the analysis of psychological, pedagogical, scientific and methodological literature, the essence and meaningful content of the concepts «poetry in preschool educational institutions», «training» and «preparedness of the future teacher in preschool educational institutions for the use of poetry» have been substantiated. The following structural components of preparedness of future teachers for the use of poetry in the process of artistic and speech activity have been defined: personal (when students have the system of professionally important personal qualities necessary for the use of poetry during artistic and speech activity, values, interests, needs and reasons of studying the possibilities of the use of poetry during artistic and speech activities), operational-activity (when students have knowledge in humanities, scientific, professional and training areas; knowledge of innovative preschool education techniques, special knowledge on the theory and methodology of dealing with poetry), cognitive-reflexive (when students have skills and abilities, creative abilities necessary for the use of poetry in the process of artistic and speech activity; skills and abilities to analyze their self-esteem and their own activities and to correct these activities). Structural-functional model and method of training future teachers in preschool educational institutions for the use of poetry in the process of artistic and speech activity has been substantiated, developed and tested.
