Essay

The thesis is devoted to the development and testing of methodology of foreign students’ intercultural communication competences development at the basic stage of the Ukrainian language training. The scientific analysis of the problem proves that the issues of intercultural communication are discussed in the philosophical, linguistic, psychological, pedagogical and linguodidactic fields. In the works, scientists place the emphasis on the necessity of intercultural communication competences development for frequent and effective dialogue of the individual in the social and professional spheres. It was found out that intercultural communication of foreign students is a process of communicative interaction between representatives of different nationalities, accompanied by the exchange of linguistic and socio-cultural information the result of which is the moral, value and knowledge cross-fertilization of each participant of communication. This process involves the development of communicative, speech, language and intercultural competences. The structural components of these competences are axiological, cognitive, active and culturological. In determining the structure and content of communicative, speech, language and intercultural competences their criteria were signed out: motivational-value, cognitive, professional and communicative, linguoculturological. The conducted research allowed to determine the levels of intercultural communication competences: reproductive, consciously-situational, active and creative. The analysis and comparison of the results on the ascertaining and molding stages of the experiment proved the efficiency of the implementation of the methodology.
