The thesis has developed, scientifically substantiated and experimentally verified the model for the formation of professional and speech competence of future navigators and pedagogical conditions for its implementation in the process of dedicating training. The essence of the concept of «professional and speech competence of future navigators», its structure is disclosed (motivational-axiological, cognitive-knowledgeable, activity-procedural components) is specified. In the thesis, for the first time there was developed a model for the formation of the professional and speech competence of future navigators, which contains such interrelated blocks as a targeted, theoretical, substantive-structural, functional, organizational, correctional-effective one. The pedagogical conditions for the implementation of the model are determined (ensuring awareness by future navigators of the value of professional and speech competence as a factor in achieving success in their professional activities; a gradual expansion of linguistic, sociolinguistic, professional knowledge, the formation of speech and interaction skills, persuasion, self-esteem with their projection on the specifics of the navigator; optimization of the classroom and extracurricular activities of future specialists in providing interaction , cooperation, modeling, scientific research, self-diagnosis and correction of vocational speech competence).
