Shadrina O. P.І. Gavsevych (1883–1920) – a scientist and organizer of research on culture of the medicinal plants in Ukraine

The dissertation is devoted to the complex research of the life path and scientific activity of the Ukrainian scientist in the field of studying the medicinal plants, a political and public figure – P.I. Gavsevych (1883–1920). The prerequisites and key factors of the forming of his scientific outlook have revealed. The periodization of the scientific path of the scientist has carried out and an analysis of his research and scientific-organizational activity in 1909–1920 has given. The basic directions of scientific researches of P.I. Gavsevych on issues of agrotechnics, seed production, storage, marketing, etc., the like of medicinal plants, tested in practice at the Lubny Research Station of Medicinal Plants have highlighted and summarized. The contribution of the scientist to the development of the domestic agrarian sector on issues of statistics, economics, land reform, cooperation has concreted. The scientific heritage has analyzed and systematized. Little-known factography from the funds of archival institutions and libraries of Ukraine in relation to the evolutionary progress of domestic agricultural science has introduced into a substantive source-study base.
