Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the solution of the actual scientific and practical problem – increasing the effectiveness of treatment of post-stroke motor, cognitive and emotional impairments on the basis of complex clinical neurological, neuropsychological, laboratory and instrumental research of patients in the late recovery period of ischemic stroke by using neuroprotective and vasoactive drugs into complex therapy. It was found out that patients with left-hemispheric stroke had higher manifestation incidence and severity of poststroke cognitive impairment and depression than patients with right-hemispheric stroke and vertebrobasilar stroke. The diagnostic and prognostic significance of the increase of serum level of sE-selectin and neuron-specific enolase in patients with ischemic stroke (as a marker of the estimation of course and severity of neurological and cognitive deficits in the late recovery period of ischemic stroke) was established. It was determined that the recovery period of ischemic stroke is accompanied by chronic oxidative stress increase, the activity decrease of enzymes of the antioxidant system, the bioelement spectrum violation (a decrease in the level of copper and zinc). Addition to basic therapy of low molecular weight polypeptide fractions and Ginkgo biloba extract improves the cognitive and emotional sphere, reduces endothelial dysfunction manifestations, reduces the neuronal damage degree and oxidation processes, improves correction of copper and zinc level and increases the activity of the antioxidant system.
