Tseunov I. Research history of the Paleolithic by continental Ukraine during the last third XIX – first half XX.

The dissertation consists of information about the history of Paleolithic research conceptions and visions during 1870th – 1940th. There were implemented a lot of different types of sources in the dissertation. These sources were used for the first time for complex analysis. Sources are stored in different Ukrainian archives. There were described fieldwork history, methods and theoretical generalizations by archaeologists in the last third of the XIX – the first half of the XX. The material was classified according to the problem-chronological principle. During all period, ideas and traditions were inherited by generations and researches. Ukrainian archaeology was formed in the last third of the XIX – first half of the XX. This process was stopped by Soviet repressions in the second half of the 1930th.
