Tarantsova T. Activity of Kyiv Agronomic Society (1909-1918) in the context of agricultural research development in Ukraine

The dissertation is a scientific historical research, in which, based on the source base and methodological principles, an analysis of the creation and operation of the Kyiv Agronomy Society (KAS), the first Ukrainian professional sectoral association, is presented. The factors of formation of branch associations on Ukrainian lands in the end of XIX – beginning of XX century are analyzed. The process of organization and peculiarities of KAS functioning is investigated. The directions of work of the KAS through the activity of structural units – commissions are covered. The analysis of scientific researches of the Society members - known scientists-agrarians, their role for further development of agricultural research work is carried out. The popularization and publishing activity are analyzed, the exclusive significance of KAS has been proved in the dissemination of agricultural knowledge and creation of the Ukrainian bibliography.
