Kovalenko R. Trade and economic relations between Ukraine and the Republic of Turkey: European integration context

This dissertation is devoted to deepening of theoretical and methodological principles of the research in development’s features of trade and economic relations between Ukraine and the Republic of Turkey in the context of European integration of both countries. The work generalizes theoretical approaches of the research of trade and economic relations and offers the model of trade and economic relations between the subjects of international economic relations; determines the role and place of trade and economic relations in the process of international economic integration; emphasizes the institutional aspect of providing trade and economic relations in the process of international economic integration; the conceptual-categorical apparatus of the research is improved by the author's refinement of the term "trade and economic relations"; determines the features of integration processes between the countries with different levels of economic and social development; investigates methodical apparatus of trade and economic relations in the context of international economic integration and theoretical framework of international trade. The study developed the correlation-regression model of the dependence of Ukrainian exports of goods and services to the Republic of Turkey on the gross domestic product of Ukraine based on purchasing power parity and the correlation-regression model of the dependence of the volumes of imports of goods and services to Ukraine from the Republic of Turkey on the gross domestic product of Ukraine by purchasing power parity; a scenario approach to the forecast of the development of Ukrainian-Turkish trade relations is proposed, which sees the development of trade and economic relations between Ukraine and the Republic of Turkey in two scenarios: basic and alternative (under conditions of preservation of pre-crisis tendencies of Ukraine's economy development in recent years). The main promising areas of trade and economic cooperation between Ukraine and the Republic of Turkey have been identified and the most promising areas of cooperation were established. The study proposes a mechanism for improving trade and economic relations between Ukraine and the Republic of Turkey in the context of European integration, as a fundamental factor in the development of trade relations it is also proposed to create a free trade zone between Ukraine and Turkey and to join Ukraine to the pan-Euro-Mediterranean zone of cumulation (the Barcelona process).
