Huz V. International legal protection of wild fauna.

The expansion of international cooperation of Ukraine in the field of environmental protection, incompatibility of rates of scientific and technical progress and intensity of environmental management, climate change, environmental, climatic and anthropogenic factors necessitated the coordination of actions to solve environmental problems of all states and, as a result, the implementation of a common legal policy in the plane international law in the legal system of Ukraine. Protection of the environment has become one of the most important international problems of our time, and the global goal of protecting the environment in general and species of wild fauna in particular is to protect humanity from the threat of mass death and the creation of favorable conditions for the development of human civilization. In 2016, WWF published the results of a study, according to which, since 1970, we are witnessing the sixth great extinction, after which 90% of the fauna have a chance to disappear by 2020, which the UN has defined as a period of biodiversity loss. A logical question arises: what can be done in the current situation and is it possible to increase the effectiveness of the international legal protection of species of wild fauna in order to stop such harmful consequences. Accordingly, it acquires the relevance of studying the theoretical and practical problems of the international legal protection of wild fauna, taking into account their specificity.
