Essay

The dissertation research is devoted to the study of perfectionism as a personal trait of the officer and his influence on the development of professional identity under special conditions in the course professional military activity. It was defined that the officer's perfectionism is a multidimensional personality construct that combines individual psychological qualities and personal characteristics that predetermine the establishment of too high personal stereotypes and standards of professional military activity, the desire for excessive perfection and bringing the results of activity to the highest external standards. The destructive perfectionism of an officer influences the effectiveness of professional military activities, and threatens professional endurance, life and health in general. It has been established that the professional identity of an officer is the result of a conscious process of professional identification and of acquaintance with the professional military environment. The achievement of professional identity occurs in the process of professional development of an officer and is one of the important indicators of the personality formation of a military professional as a subject of professional military activity, fully revealed in a professional subject position, characterizing the certainty and integrity of the professional identification of an officer. Achieved professional identity presupposes a developed sense of professional competence, independence and self-efficacy, professional integrity and certainty, mastering the value of professional military activity, leading an officer to an independent establishment of his professional future. It was proven that the process of professional identification of an officer's personality is determined by his perfectionist attitudes, which are formed in ontogenesis. The development of destructive perfectionism lays the differences between the current and the ideal professional "I-images", between the real level of goals and high ideals, between aspirations and the assessment of one's own capabilities, unrealistic requirements for oneself and one's colleagues. The empirical investigation of the influence of the officer's perfectionism on the development of his professional identity is based on the relationship between perfectionism and professional identity according to cognitive-reflexive, subject-personal, operational-regulatory, productive-activity criteria. The relation of the stylistic features of the professional identity of officers with different levels of perfectionism has been clarified. The high level of perfectionism of an officer leads to the development of a diffuse style of professional identity, the desire to follow excessively high standards, lack of confidence, that block the development of the achieved professional identity of the individual. Constructive perfectionism, as opposed to destructive, contributes to the activation of the mechanisms of professional identity development (information style) from determining their own development prospects in the professional environment by recognizing the importance of the goals, taking into consideration the alternatives in the process of choosing a particular direction of their own professional development. Professional and psychological training for the development of constructive perfectionism and professional identification of the officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has been created and implemented. Structurally, the training consisted of the introductory part, 4 blocks ("cognitive-reflexive development", "subject-personal development", "development of operational and regulatory characteristics", "development of performance-activity characteristics"), the final part. During psycho-training work, the results of an optimization of the existing level and structure of perfectionism, the formation of adequate standards and constructive requirements for themselves and others, the development of skills for effective professional-role interaction, a sense of satisfaction with what was achieved, a tolerant attitude to professional mistakes and failures, the formation of adaptive behavior with regard to professional requirements, the development of personal and professional potential and self-esteem, the ability to comprehend their promising professional capabilities and tasks, stimulating the needs of personal professional self-development, professional involvement, the development of a conscious attitude to their professional future, skills of its planning and modeling, overcoming professional difficulties, goal setting management, forecasting and evaluation were obtained. It has been established that the implementation of professional-psychological training ensures the development of substantial characteristics of the officer's constructive perfectionism and the achievement of a higher level of professional identity based on empirical indicators of cognitive-reflexive, subject-personal, operational-regulatory and productive-activity criteria. Key words: perfectionism, professional identity, officer's personality, influence, stylistic features, subject, professional military activity, special conditions, development, vocational-psychological training.
