The dissertation deals with the problem of formation of future music teachers' ability to self - control piano teaching and performing activities; the state of research of the problem in the scientific literature is analyzed; the content of the concept of "the ability of the future music teacher to self-control" and structural components (motivational-target, cognitive-evaluative, control-regulative, result-prognostic) are defined. The principles, pedagogical conditions for the effective formation of the ability of teachers of self-control of piano teaching and performing activity, as well as the criteria and indicators of the formation of this phenomenon in students of music-pedagogical specialties, are determined. The technique of forming the ability of teachers of future music teachers to self-control the piano educational and performing activity, consisting of three stages: urgent-needy, cognitive-analytical, orientation-operative, was developed and experimentally tested. As a result of conducting a formative experiment, a significant increase in the quantitative and qualitative indicators of the levels of self-control ability formation in students of experimental groups was recorded, which testifies to the expediency and effectiveness of the implementation of the developed step-by-step method of forming the ability of self-controlling music for future teachers of music.
