Grachova A. Temporal adverbs in the languages with different systems: structure, semantics, functions (on material of English, Italian and Ukrainian languages)

In the dissertation a retrospective study of linguistic tendencies related to lexical-grammatical word-categorization has been carried out. There has been concretized the meaning of the notion «part of speech». On the material of three languages with different systems the key mechanisms of lexical-grammatical wordy distribution have been characterized and the nationally-specific and universal parts of speech have been detailed. The adverb lexeme class has been subjected to the comprehensive scientific assessment. There have been characterized the diverse strategies for the classification of English, Italian and Ukrainian adverbs and there have been defined the universal semantic varieties of the adverb. The linguistic terms: «functional-semantic field», «temporality», «time» and «dexis» have been interpreted. The in-depth study of compositional, content and role properties of temporality has been carried out. The semantic and functional status of the temporal adverb has been detailed. On the English, Italian and Ukrainian linguistic bases there have been implemented two mechanisms of dividing the unity of adverbial time markers by the reference point and by the level of deictic potency.
