Essay

The thesis is devoted to the peculiarities of energy markets convergence under the conditions of modern challenges of global economic development. Theoretical summary of energy market convergence processes allowed to define their peculiarities inside the macro regional group (EU member states and its’ associatiated members). The research helped to solve an important topical scientific and practical issue – defining an impact of energy markets convergence on its parties’ interests realization in terms of their EU integration process. Based on the results of this part of research, recommendations on Ukraine energy market convergence model were developed. Conceptual approach to energy market convergence of macro regional group has been offered and presented as a process of their parameters functioning alignment in terms of their new organic continuity, which is formed by the participants of all acting energy markets. Modern mechanisms of energy markets convergence of EU member states are grounded in the thesis. European internal and external models on energy markets convergence have been researched. The direction of the convergence according to energy market parameters and social and economic efficiency of energy market functioning during is convergence processes have been defined. The backgrounds and directions of Ukraine gas market adaption to the EU one (according to its standards) have been analyzed. Main directions of Ukraine gas transit system integration into a common EU energy market have been grounded. Practical recommendations for Ukraine energy market integration to a common EU energy market have been developed.
