In the dissertation the complex analysis of virtuoso movements as a phenomenon of Ukrainian folk-stage choreographic art was carried out. The sources, stages of development, specificity of virtuoso movements in folklore dance are revealed; the role of skomorokhs, bandura players, "traveling diacs", workshop musicians on the rights of professional dancers in the process of complicating the vocabulary of Ukrainian folk dance; the folk dance in intermediaries on the stage of the Ukrainian school theater has been analyzed. The work elucidates the tendencies of the development of virtuoso movements in the stage dance of the XIX – early XX centuries; the main aspects of virtuosity in the folk-stage dance culture of Soviet time are studied; choreological approaches to the consideration of the system of psychophysical perfection "Fighting Hopak" as manifestations of the latest trends in the interaction of choreographic art and sports; the perspective directions of further scientific researches of the phenomenon of virtuosity in the Ukrainian folk-stage dance are designated
