In the thesis the theoretical analysis of the problem of formation of diagnostic and prognostic competence of future general practitioners (family medicine) with means of the corresponding technologies of physical education and sport is conducted; the basic conceptual constructs and the content of the preventive component of professional training of future general practitioners (family medicine) were studied; the role and place of professionally oriented physical education in the competence formation of specialists were determined; the effectiveness of the model of competence formation of future general practitioners with the use of diagnostic and prognostic technologies of physical education and sport in professional activity was developed and experimentally tested. Educational and methodical support for ensuring the competence formation of future general practitioners with the use of diagnostic and prognostic technologies of physical education and sport in professional activity in the process of professional training was created; methodical recommendations for provision of pedagogical conditions of the competence formation of future general practitioners with the use of diagnostic and prognostic technologies of physical education and sport were formulated. In the work for the first time there was developed a model of the competence formation of future general practitioners (family medicine) with the use of diagnostic and prognostic technologies of physical education and sport in professional activity in the integrity of the normative and target, content, methodical and control and result blocks of professional training, which are in dynamic unity. The essence of the conceptual construct «diagnostic and prognostic competence of future general practitioners» is clarified on the basis of awareness of the professional functions of a general practitioner (family medicine) as a combination of two components – preventive and therapeutic (the range of diagnostic and prognostic orientation issues and the set of powers, which doctor is endowed with as a subject of diagnostic and prognostic activity were revealed; diagnostic and prognostic knowledge were defined in the context of socially prescribed requirements for the specialist in medical industry training and technological bases of such doctors’ activity in the process of realization of the preventive component of their profession). Structural components (motivational, cognitive, activity orientated, axiological), criteria (value-motivational, cognitive, health-protective, operative and activity orientated, professionally-reflexive), indicators and levels (high, average, low) of the competence formation of future general practitioners with the use of diagnostic and prognostic technologies in the process of training are scientifically substantiated. Diagnostic and prognostic technologies of physical education and sport, required by the general practitioner in professional activities were improved and adapted to the needs of the work (technology of healthcare environment designing; preventive and health and rehabilitation technologies of physical education and sport; technology of forecasting the individual health of the personality; technology of forecasting the dynamics of indicators of health of the family as a multi-age social element), and the pedagogical conditions of the competence formation of future specialists.
