Gaponova E. Modern trends in the development of the world market for medical services

The dissertation is devoted to deepening of theoretical and methodological principles of research of modern tendencies and prospects of development of the world market of medical services, as well as development of strategic priorities of development of the Ukrainian market of medical services and its effective integration into the world. Based on the systematization of existing approaches to understanding the nature and specifics of medical services in the health care system, the structurization of the medical services market is justified on the basis of different criteria: economic purpose, competitive structures, nature of ownership of the means of production, geographical origin, degree of legality, degree of payment, level of provision services, specialization, age mark, the nature of contact with the patient. Based on the analysis of the areas of international trade in medical services in terms of their content, the main participating countries and the consequences of trade liberalization for exporting countries and importing countries, that the liberalization of trade in medical services has both positive and negative consequences for all countries of the world. The DEA method evaluates the effectiveness of health systems in the countries of the world and Ukraine according to parameters such as the share of total expenditure on health care from GDP; share of total expenditure on health care from GDP per capita; the share of private expenditures on total health expenditure; the number of hospital beds per 100 thousand population. Based on the evaluation of the effectiveness of the national health care system of Ukraine, taking into account the directions of its reform, the strategic priorities of the Ukrainian medical services market development and its effective integration into the world are substantiated.
