The problem of professional training of future journalists in higher educational institutions of Ukraine (the second half of XX – the beginning of XXI century) is considered holisticaly and complexly. The state of the study of the problem of professional training of future journalists in higher educational establishments of Ukraine is analyzed. The issue of historiography of the research is highlighted. The characteristics of the main periods of the professional training of future journalists in higher educational institutions of Ukraine in the second half of XX – the beginning of XXI century are described. The author’s periodization of the training of future journalists in higher educational institutions of Ukraine is proposed and the leading trends of the investigated process are singled out. The requirements, structure, content, forms and methods of professional training of the future journalists in higher educational institutions of Ukraine in the second half of the 20th – the beginning of the 21st century are substantiated. The prospective ways of realization of the professional training of future journalists with the account of historical and pedagogical experience in a definite direction are outlined.
