He was a communications engineer, a scientist in the field of bridge construction, structural mechanics, Corresponding Member of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (1931), a member of the Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture (1956), Hero of Socialist Labor (1966), Honored Worker of Science and Technology of the RSFSR (1944). Nikolay Stanislavovich is the author of bridge projects through Oka, Volga, Moscow, Dnipro and others, one of the initiators of the construction of cable bridges. He was the organizer and leader of experimental studies of bridge structures (since 1918), actively engaged in pedagogical activities at the Moscow Institute of Railway Engineers, the Military Engineering Academy named after V.V. Kuibyshev, Moscow Construction Institute. In 1948-1957 he was a chairman of the All-Union Scientific and Technical Society. Works devoted to building mechanics, bridge construction, the theory of calculating construction structures in accordance to the boundary conditions. In 1928, M.S. Streletsky spoke about the dynamics of the bridges as general rapporteur at the international bridge congress in Vienna. This was the result of the recognition of the great depth and originality of those experimental and theoretical studies of bridges that were conducted under the direction of Nikolai Stanislavovich and were in many respects in the former USSR at a higher level than in other countries. The dissertation covers the main aspects of the work of the well-known domestic communications engineer in the first half of the XX century. M.S. Streletsky The problems of development of science and technology of railway transport in the Russian Empire and in Ukraine are considered. The contribution of M.S. Streletsky in the development of building science, in the issue of developing his theory of prefabricated reinforced concrete bridges, features of the construction of monumental bridges and construction mechanics. The work consists of an introduction, three sections, conclusions to each section, general conclusions, list of sources used and literature and annexes. Historical and scientific analysis of life and activity of M.S. Streletsky as a scientist, engineer, organizer of science is relevant in view of the scale and versatility of his scientific contribution.
