Essay

The object is Volodymyr Svidzinsky's poetic language; the purpose is to find out the specificity of lexical and syntactical means of expressing key motifs and artistic time space in the poetry of Volodymyr Svidzinsky and to determine the regularities of the functioning of these linguistic means as representatives of the writer’s idiostyle; methods – method of context analysis, method of structural-semantic analysis, interpretation method, descriptive method, method of function-stylistic analysis; novelty – for the first time in the Ukrainian linguistics the language means of embodying Volodymyr Svidzinsky's dominant motifs in his poetic text have been revealed. The lexical markers of motifs and syntactic means of their realization have been defined and described. The linguistic specificity of the author's individual embodiment of time and space has also been presented for the first time, emphasizing the interconnection between time-space organization and the motif structure of the poetic picture of the writer’s world. The role and place of the common humanitarian term motif in linguistic analysis of poetic text has been specified, its definition has been proposed, the specificity of its coverage in the linguistic aspect has been shown; results – the scientific results of the research can be used in teaching the disciplines with philological content: lexicology, syntax and stylistics of the modern Ukrainian language, special courses in stylistic syntax, the language of Ukrainian poetry, as well as history of Ukrainian literature of the twentieth century and history of the Ukrainian literary language; field – philology.
