Kartavtsev R. Medico-social justification of the model of provision of health care institutions with highly expensive equipment

Thesis is devoted to the decision of an actual scientific problems concerning justification of the model of provision of health care institutions in Ukraine with highly expensive equipment and the efficiency of its use. Comprehensive medical-and-social study defined mismatch in health care institutions’ supply with highly expensive equipment and a low level of it usage. It was found that the equipment that was purchased for the funds of the State budget may not be put into operation up to 8 years. Method of sociological survey detected a high level of physicians’ dissatisfaction with the level of highly expensive equipment supply that negatively affects the quality of medical care. Low level of equipment supply of intensive therapy departments significantly affects the increase of the indicator of patients’ mortality. The model and algorithm of providing health care institutions with highly expensive equipment was substantiated and developed. In contrast to the existing situation, the implementation of the proposed system allows to eliminate managerial and organizational deficiencies in the supply and use of highly expensive equipment at the level of health care institution. The obtained results of scientific research have been implemented at all levels of management.
