Essay

The study is a theoretical-and-experimental research into the issue of elaborating linguodidactic foundations for developing and using an electronic textbook in Ukrainian for the 5th gradersand scientifically substantiated methodology for its implementation into the educational process. In the thesis, the scientific foundations for developing and using an electronic textbook in Ukrainian for the 5th graders are substantiated; linguodidactic foundations of using electronic teaching aids are defined. The content of the basic notions of the research, notably “electronic textbook”, “textbook in Ukrainian” is determined and specified. In the study, the content of the notion “electronic textbook in Ukrainian” is construed as an open training program system of comprehensive functioning with wide opportunities for integrating information from various sources and didactic features of other educational aids, hypertext, multimedia possibilities, casual mode of presenting information and standing quality feedback. It is established, that both electronic and printed textbooks in Ukrainian possess common features: the teaching material is represented with regard for scientific nature, intelligibility, problem-based nature, use of visual aids, activity and deliberateness, systematic character, consistency-and-retention principles and includes the implementation of teaching, educational and developing functions of the subject; integrate the components which are characterized by interconnection and semantic communication and are able to ensure the structural coherence of textbooks. Psychology-and education and psycholinguistic foundations for providing training-and-cognitive activities of the 5th graders using electronic textbooks are referred to, the linguodidactic aspect of developing and using an electronic textbook in Ukrainian for the 5th graders is specified. The most efficient stages of teaching using electronic textbooks at Ukrainian lessons are defined and described; the system of research tasks in Ukrainian (on the material of Phonetics, Orthoepy. Graphics and Orthography)is established; structural-and functional model of electronic textbooks, specific methods and teaching aids are substantiated. The results of the pedagogical experiment proved the efficiency of the presented methodology for using an electronic textbook in Ukrainian for the 5th graders.
