Object: architectural enlightenment of public in the seats of Ukrainian culture of the XIX - the beginning of the XX century ; purpose: coverage of the national experience of architectural enlightenment activity and ascertainment of its influence on the theory and practice of Ukraine style in the architecture of the XIX - the beginning of the XX century; methods: based on the combination of comparative and diffusion, which allows to explore the architectural enlightenment as a phenomenon of professional culture and to determine its role in the formation of theories and practices of Ukrainian style in the architecture of the XIX - the beginning of the XX century; novelty: content processes in architecture that emerged under the influence of enlightenment ideas were first discovered; the concept of "architectural enlightenment" is formulated, its place in the structure of professional activity of the architect is indicated; the role of architectural enlightenment in the development of the practice of building Ukrainian architecture and in the formation of professional and public institutional structures is generalized; the understanding of the role of public activity in ensuring the links between the professional sphere and Ukrainian society is improved; results: the role of architectural enlightenment in the developnment of project culture and in the establishment of the social value of architectural activity is determined; the concept of genesis, movement and forms of architectural enlightenment, strategies for improvement of modern architectural practice in the centers of Ukrainian culture were further developed; degree of implementation: architectural theory and practice of design; branch: architecture.
