The dissertation is dedicated to the development of a method for determining the potential functional and territorial resource in conditions of densely populated urban development. Characterized methods for determining the resource potential of urban areas. A modified classification of existing urban development was developed for the purposes of the study. The new calculation method to identify potential functional and territorial resource blocks or individual land exploited by the use of roofs in terms of compacted urban development. These criteria influencing the decision on the necessity for and use of areas exploited roofs of buildings. Methodical scheme determining potential functional and territorial resources through the use of exploited roofs when developing urban planning, design and land documents.
