Essay

Object – the stress resistance of a high school student's personality; goal – to determine the psychological characteristics and conditions for the development of stress resistance of pupils in the upper classes of general education boarding schools; methods – theoretical (analysis, systematization and generalizations), empirical (experimental and psycho-diagnostic methods), mathematical-statistical methods of data processing; novelty – for the first time defined the structure of stress resistance of pupils of higher classes of boarding schools, the basic components of which reveal the feedback of pressure with satisfaction with life, self, resilience, optimism, as well as the combination of high tone and working capacity against the background of high resistance to stress, optimism and activity in overcoming stress, the negative role of anxiety in resistance to stress and a number of resources of emotional self-regulation in stress; for the first time it has been determined that self-regulation of educational activities has a positive impact on the development of stress resistance of pupils in senior residential schools; expanded ideas on stress resistance as a complex characteristic of personality, which is based on innate and acquired psycho-physiological qualities, functions in the unity of personal and behavioral components and is expressed in the ability to withstand psychological loads, guide emotions, successfully perform life activity; expanded ideas on the personality of the student of the boarding school, which is characterized by a decrease in the level of abilities and qualities of stress resistance; expanded ideas on the psychological characteristics of the stress resistance of high school students in boarding schools, which are manifested in the connection of its basic components with social and psychological (adaptability, stress factors) and personal (anxiety, copings, protective mechanisms, irrational attitudes and basic beliefs) resources; the means of psychological support for the development of stress resistance of pupils of higher classes of boarding schools have been further developed, taking into account the formation of their abilities for self-regulation of behavior and educational activities; results – a program on formation of stress resistance of the personality of high school students has been developed and tested. The results can be used in the process of professional training and improvement of professional level of practical psychologists in teaching courses "Age psychology, "Pedagogical psychology, "Psycho-correction, "Basics of psychotherapy". The results of the dissertation study were introduced into the educational process of communal general education institutions of residential type; area – psychology.
