Тhe object of research: symbolic reality of personality. The purpose: theoretical research and empirical study of the symbolism of the dreams of the individual, its individual psychological and cultural-historical features. Methods: theoretical: analysis, synthesis, comparison, classification and systematization of modern scientific research, which were used to generalize the theoretical and methodological foundations of the study of the symbolism of the dreams of the individual, its individual psychological and cultural-historical features. Novelty: the definition of the symbolic reality of the personality is formulated, which is manifested in the symbolism of her dreams; revealed and semantically filled with the basic functions of dreams (prognostic, communication, emotional-cognitive); a cluster model of characters has been developed depending on their subjective significance and semantic content (characters with a low level of subjective importance; anal fixation, everyday life features, challenge, unusual test; negative mortidose characters; Christian; related to the birth and upbringing of children and bodily-hygienic); а seven-factor model of the main plots of dreams (“Plots related to anxiety and fears”, “Blockade of need”, “Aggressive plots”, “Transcendence” “Emotionally positive plots”, “Plots of threat and persecution” “Plots in which the line between life and death is erased ”); the features of the correlation of dream reality and dispositional characteristics of the personality are established; the idea of the meaning of the content of dreams in the process of the life of a person has been further developed; the psychocultural approach to the classification of dreams according to the main criteria was applied: “Gender of the dreamer”, “Age of the dreamer”, “Historical era”, “Civilization identity”; the main vectors of typical dream plots are established according to the criteria of "Historical Era", "Civilizational Identity"; the connection (interconnection) of the constructive field of coping resources and coping strategies with the symbolically plot reality of a person’s dreams has been revealed and it has been shown that the unconscious symbolic meaning of a person manifests itself in specific ways to overcome stressful situations. The practical significance of the study is that a battery of psychodiagnostic tools has been conducted and adapted to determine the symbolic reality of the individual. Used in the study quantitative and qualitative data on the peculiarities of the dreams of the individual and their symbolic-plot content allow you to perform individual and group psychotherapeutic work, to provide psychological support during the adaptation period.
