Kudryavtsev K. Psychological features of the image of the city in the worldview of adolescence

Object – a picture of the world at a youthful age; goal – to define the psychosemantic features and conditions for the formation of the image of the city in the picture of the world as an adaptive resource of the individual; methods – theoretical (systematization and generalization), empirical (experimental and psychodiagnostic methods of research), mathematical-statistical methods of data processing; novelty – the psychosemantic structure of the image of the city-metropolis in the perception of young men with different experience of living in the city is defined for the first time; the typological features of urban identity and perceptions of meeting needs in the city during the youth period and their mutual relationship with the image of the city are shown for the first time; the feedback between the experience of living in the city and the differences between the ideal and real images of the city in youth is revealed for the first time; ideas about the image of the city as a structural component of the world picture of the personality are expanded; ideas about prospective urban identity as a factor in the positive image of the city in the personality at a youthful age are expanded; ideas about the psychological well-being of the individual as a state that caused by positive image of the city are expanded; ideas about the visual image of the city-metropolis through the psychosemantic characteristic of its architectural space, which is described by factors of comfort and aesthetics, naturality, modernity, simplicity and dynamism are expanded; the possibility of a psycholinguistic associative experiment in the study of concepts of the urban environment with a view to exploring the verbalised image of the city is gained further development; the means of psychological support for the adaptation of internally displaced persons to new living conditions in the city-metropolis through the development of their integrative urban identity are gained further development; results – new methods and techniques of psychodiagnostics of city image and development of urban identity are developed and systematized. The main provisions of the work and the results obtained in the dissertation study can be used in the course of professional training and improvement of the professional level of practical psychologists in teaching courses "Age psychology", "General psychology", "Social psychology". The results of the dissertation study have been introduced into the educational process of institutions of higher education of Ukraine and public administration bodies; area – psychology.
