Essay

The object of the study is public relations related to the constitutional and legal regulation of the status of electronic media. The subject of the study is the constitutional and legal status of electronic media. For the first time: - author's definition of "electronic media" as a legal entity (organization), whose activity is aimed at production and high-speed transmission of public information for unlimited number of consumers, which functions by continuous use of electronic or electromechanical energy to convey information to consumers, is proposed (audience) improved: - scientific views on the system of functions of electronic media; the general (peculiar to all mass media), generic (peculiar to electronic media) and special (peculiar to certain types of electronic media) functions are distinguished; - doctrinal approaches to understanding the system of principles of activity of electronic mass media; it is proposed to supplement it with the principles of self-regulation of the activity of electronic media and indirect influence of the state on their functioning; have further developed: - classification of electronic media in terms of their division into three types: television, radio and Internet media; proposes the following: - development and adoption of the Information Code of Ukraine as a tool to ensure the unification of approaches to the regulation of information relations in Ukraine. Its indicative structure is proposed and the main directions of legal regulation are defined; - the possibility of introducing voluntary registration for local electronic media, which has changed from the official print version to the Internet version.
