Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the studying of psychological factors of professional self-determination of high school students and elaboration of psychological and pedagogical support program for the formation of professional self-determination of high schoolers. A complex theoretical research of the concept of professional self-determination as a constant, value-oriented complex of professionally important personality traits, which has the appropriate structure, being formed under the influence of certain psychological factors, and determines the willingness to choose a profession, is carried out. A theoretical-empirical investigation is conducted, the level structure of psychological factors of professional self-determination of high school students is singled out. The level structure was defined on the basis of the possibility of influencing the formation factors of professional self-determination in the educational process. The factors, which achieve minimal influence, are attributed to the micro-level. To meso- level the factors with indirect influence are attached. To macro-level – the factors with the influence caused by psychological and pedagogical support program for the formation of professional self-determination of high school students. The structure of psychological factors of professional self-determination of high school students includes: on the micro-level – integration into the world community (formation of the global labor market); promoting civil society; balanced state development; actual needs of the state in personnel; prestige of the profession; on the meso-level – a favorable, competent position of parents; developing a subject-subjective strategy for the impact of the school environment; on the macro level – updated motives and values; sufficient level of development of volitional regulation of a person; locus of control; sufficient level of development of reflexivity. The organizational and methodological basics of the diagnostic research of psychological factors of professional self-determination are clarified. The psychological properties of personality, which display the formation of professional self-determination factors of adolescents, are empirically substantiated. A program of psychological and pedagogical support for the formation of professional self-determination of high schoolers has been created; the effectiveness of its use in general secondary education institutions has been proved. The principles of its implementation are consistency and continuity; complexity and systematicity; openness; correctness and balance. The implementation of the principles is ensured by the use of a personality approach as a tool for the development of the psychological properties of the individual. The purpose of the program is psychological support for the development of personal qualities through which the willingness of high school students to exercise professional choice is manifested.The program includes systematic work with students, parents and teachers in three areas: psychological assessment, formation and development, psychoprophylaxis and psychological correction. Psychological assessment was aimed at revealing the level of internal factors of professional self-determination of students, parents, teachers and was conducted in two stages: before and after pedagogical and psychological support. Formation and development implied an active purposeful influence on the development of psychological factors of professional self-determination through the joint interaction of all subjects of the school educational environment. Psychoprophylaxis and psychological correction were aimed at providing timely support in overcoming of personal complex situations. The effectiveness of the program is determined by the actualization of the positive dynamics of all psychological properties, which manifests the formation of factors of professional self-determination of high school students and the willingness to make deliberate professional choices. The prospects of the future scientific researches for studying given vital phenomenon are determined.
