Essay

The dissertation examined professional training of the future air traffic controllers in flight training institutions in the USA, comparative analysis of the professional training of future air controllers in flight training institutions of the United States and Ukraine was held, and it was outlined the main achievements of the innovative American experience in the preparation of future air traffic controllers with author's recommendations for their use in the preparation of future air dispatcher in flight training institutions of Ukraine. It was analyzed the scientific-pedagogical and normative-legal base that regulates the training of future air traffic controllers. It should be underlined that Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is authorized to promote aviation security and to establish aviation safety standards for civil aviation in USA. These missions are implemented by the FAA through the Code of Federal Regulations. As a result of the research of American higher education, it was concluded that air traffic controllers can obtain higher aviation education in such educational institutions: colleges, universities and academies. Analysis of aviation education assisted the research of future air traffic controllers training programs. In the course of the research, it was highlighted Embry-Riddle University professional programs in outlined areas of training. Basic forms, methods and means of future aviation controllers’ preparation in the USA were analyzed. On the example of Embry-Riddle University there were described the following forms of training: lectures, individual classes, classes in small groups and weekly laboratory lessons. The following types of lectures were pointed out an illustrated lecture, briefing, formal lecture, educational lecture. The method of directed discussion, problem-oriented learning, the scenario-based method, the method of collective search of the solution and the case study method, thematic research method are outlined. It was characterized peculiarities of educational process organization in the flight training institution of the USA and Ukraine, where future air traffic controllers training. The necessity of the Ukrainian professional aviation education system reforming was determined as a result of the inappropriate distribution of learning hours, incomplete practical training, and lack of modern equipment for special disciplines studying.
