Essay

The dissertation studies theoretical and practical aspects of functioning of international financial institutions that play a central role in international economic relations and global governance as well as being an integral part of the world economy. It has been provided a detailed analysis of main forms of activities of international financial organizations in the context of their reforming triggered in 2010, as well as of their role in modern world financial architecture. This dissertation further analyses the initiation, development, and perspectives of the cooperation between international financial organizations and countries in various regions, in particular in Latin America, Eastern Europe, and Eastern Asia. It has been identified the main established strategies and approaches applied during crises and periods of active cooperation between international financial organizations and countries, which mostly benefited from the assistance of international financial organizations. It has been defined determinants of the participation of countries in obtaining finances from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) as a result of the elaboration of a complex correlative and regressive model. The social and economic consequences of such participation based on econometrical tests were also explored. It has been determined main stages of the development and ways of the improvement of the cooperation between Ukraine and international financial organizations, in particular as regards the improvement of organizational mechanisms of the cooperation and the management of external debts in the context of such cooperation as well as the reinforcement of the effectiveness of the use of resources obtained from said organizations.
