Ksenzhuk O. The integration of national economies in the global industry of precious metals and stones

The object of research is the processes of formation of the global industry of precious metals and precious stones. The aim are theoretical, methodological and applied principles of integration of national economies into the global industry of precious metals and precious stones. The methods are general and special; system analysis; theoretical generalization and scientific abstraction; comparative analysis; descriptive statistics and visual analysis; econometric modeling. The novelty of research are to develop theoretical, methodological and applied approaches to the formation of a global industry of precious metals and precious stones and substantiate the conceptual provisions for strategic areas of integration of national economies, including Ukraine, in this industry. In the research were formulated the main conceptual provisions of the model of formation of the global industry of precious metals and precious stones, this made it possible to establish its basic characteristics, branched structural structure with the definition of levels of functioning and principles of construction, to identify signs of globality and prerequisites that determine the types of strategies for integrating national economies into this industry. The research presents methodological approaches to the evaluation of the functioning of the global industry of precious metals and precious stones, which on the basis of empirical studies of selected characteristics made it possible to identify dynamic and structural changes, to identify countries by level of involvement in global industry (by type of participation, by types of precious metals and precious stones, by the degree of foreign trade activity) and identify the main disparities in the levels of integration of countries, which confirmed the uneven development of global industry in different time periods. The findings of the research were implemented into the activities of the Committee on Financial Policy and Banking of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine; Ternopil City Council Strategic Development Department; Union of Jewelers of Ukraine; public organization "African Council in Ukraine"; Ternopil National Economic University. Their area of application is the respective activity of the Ministry for Development of Economy, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine, the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine.
