The dissertation presents the results of scientific and theoretical analysis of the problem of communicative competence formation of future foreign language teachers by the means of information and communication technologies. Based on the analysis of numerous sources, the system characteristics of communicative competence formation of future foreign language teachers by the means of ICT are presented in accordance with the leading elements of the educational system of higher education institutions – goals, content, forms and methods of acquisition, subjects and objects of the educational process, characteristics of the educational environment and the result of the educational process. The scientific novelty of the research lies in the fact that in the dissertation: for the first time theoretically substantiated and experimentally tested the model of formation of communicative competence of future foreign language teachers by means of information and communication technologies; pedagogical aspect of introduction of information and communication technologies in vocational training of future foreign language teachers is analyzed; scientific approaches to the problem of formation of communicative competence of future foreign language teachers by means of information and communication technologies are generalized; the essence of the basic concepts of the study such as "communicative competence", "teacher of foreign languages", "information and communication technologies" is clarified; the content, forms and methods of forming the communicative competence of future foreign language teachers have been improved; further development of the theory and methodology of formation of communicative competence of future foreign language teachers in the chosen direction is observed. The stages and directions of implementation of the author's model of formation of communicative competence of future foreign language teachers by means of information and communication technologies (motivational, cognitive, activity) are disclosed. The main tool of model implementation is the author's interdisciplinary special course "Information and communication technologies in the activity of a foreign language teacher". The practical significance of the research is that its results can be used in the process of professional training of future foreign language teachers in the HEI (higher education institutions), to prepare scientific and methodological support for the use of ICT by students of different specialties in higher education, in the self-educational activities of students and teachers of higher education institutions.
