Essay

The problem of future ship engineers’ foreign communicative competence formation is considered in the dissertation. The essence of the concept of "gamification approach to mastering the English language for professional purpose" is revealed. The structure of foreign communicative competence of future ship engineers is determined. The model of the formation of the foreign communicative competence of future ship engineers gives an opportunity to demonstrate the main methods and means of its implementation in unified system. Structural model contains target, content, methodological, procedural and effective blocks. The model of forming foreign communicative competence of future ship engineers determines competency, activity, personality-oriented, systemic and gamification approaches, as well as general and specific principles. To the general we refer the principles of science, activity, systematicy and consistency, visibility (visualization), unity of theoretical and practical training (the principle of dual education). Specific principles include the consideration and development of learning motivation and the game principle. The paper defines pedagogical conditions, theoretically substantiated, developed and experimentally tested model of formation of foreign communicative competence of future ship engineers.
