Essay

Thesis is devoted to the problem of professional image formation of a future foreign languages teacher. The scientific literature on the research problem is analysed; in the process of research data processing of Ukrainian and foreign researchers the essence and varieties of the image are determined. In the research, a theoretical analysis is made and completely new solution is given to the problem of professional image formation of a future foreign languages teacher. The literature analysis on the problem of professional image formation of a teacher is made, which revealed a variety of conceptual approaches to determining the content and essence of the concept "image" in domestic and foreign literature. The characteristic to the content, structure and functions of a future foreign languages teacher’s professional image is given, which is an entire system of professionally significant teacher characteristics that determines the effectiveness of pedagogical interaction of educational process subjects. In our study it is shown that the process of professional image creating is gradual. The teacher’s professional image in the study is presented as a social reserve aimed at improving the training quality of future foreign languages teacher, his or her competitiveness, mobility, ability to adapt and develop in new social and economic conditions. Pedagogical conditions are defined and proved, they suggest the creation of an image forming educational environment for a positive, motivational and valuable attitude to the process of self image formation; improving the content of lingual and pedagogical training of students for the development of professional qualities of a future foreign languages teacher, contributes to the optimal combination of various teaching technologies to ensure the effective development of all components of a future foreign languages teacher’s professional image; pedagogical tools creation for the implementation of self-educational activities and self-presentation through the introduction of the author’s special course "Technologies of Foreign languages teacher’s professional image formation" and guidelines "Formation of future teacher professional image: technological support." The conducted research and analysis of its results made it possible to form methodological recommendations, the use of which increases the effectiveness of a future foreign languages teacher’s training. To achieve a high level of professional image formation it is necessary to create a future teacher’s professional image in the entire system of the educational process of institutions of higher education; to ensure the effectiveness of graduates preparing for professional activities and increasing their competitiveness by integrating into the linguodidactic and professional pedagogical content; carry out control and correction of the educational process in the image components formation at all stages of training; create an effective system of consulting on self-presentation during the teaching practice; use a system of specially developed techniques and practical recommendations aimed at developing self-presentation mechanisms in the educational process; carry out the planning of the educational process taking the developed models and technologies into account that ensure the continuous development of student’s professional and personal qualities that make up the professional image structure.
