Essay

The thesis deals with the urgent problem of pedagogical training of future secondary school teachers at the colleges of Great Britain taking into consideration the prospect of the development of the national professional pre-higher education, the opportunities to improve its content, forms, methods, innovative pedagogical technologies. The research defines the essence of the notion of «future teachers’ pedagogical training» (the system that is purposefully designed and developed as a process of mastering by future teachers a sum of theoretical and practical knowledge, formation of pedagogical competence in the system of educational process of higher pedagogical school). The main components of pedagogical training have been identified: methodological, substantive, procedural, organizational, technical, practical (pedagogical practice). The integral pedagogical training includes the following components: cognitive, praxeological and axiological. The following methodological approaches, which will encourage effective pedagogical training, are defined and backgrounded: systemic, activity, dialogical, competence-based, axiological, acmeological. It has been ascertained that the structure of future secondary school teachers’ pedagogical training in Great Britain consists of three main components: subject-based methods, educational and professional studies, school-based work. It has been proved that the theoretical and practical training of future secondary school teachers in Great Britain coincides with the basic principles of constructing the content of higher pedagogical education: universality, integration ability, fundamentality, professionalism, variability, multilevel character. The basic methods of pedagogical training of future secondary school teachers at the colleges of Great Britain are identified, including: problematic interactive teaching, project method, problematic lectures, scientific seminars, case method, pedagogical coaching. Theoretical and methodological foundations for constructing the content of English educational teacher training programs are backgrounded, positive in the structure of which are linear-concentric and modular content structure, a perfect system of knowledge, skills and practical skills assessment, personality-oriented and competent approaches to teaching. It has been cleared out that the leading areas of the development of the British education system in terms of its content are widespread introduction of advanced scientific achievements into the teaching practice, both national and foreign; development of techniques to ensure graduality and continuity; extension of special-purpose training; ecological orientation of education. Priority is given to the following technologies: suggestive, contextual-language learning, tutoring, associative, interactive, informational, creative and dialogical technologies, language portfolio. The system of pedagogical education functions according to the orientation of educational institutions to the needs of the labor market, their close connection with the business community, dynamic research activities, creation of opportunities for continuous future teachers’ self-development and self-realization. Taking into account the British experience, the model of pedagogical training of future teachers at the national colleges has been developed, which is a complex of interconnected elements of the pedagogical process, that provide the formation of the system of qualities, knowledge and skills necessary for successful organization of teachers’ pedagogical activities.
