Essay

The thesis is devoted to studying the day-to-dayness and artistic life in Poland, importance and place of Polish culture in M. Glinka's life and musical heritage. Particular attention is paid to the composer's trips to Poland since so far this aspect of his biography has not been sufficiently studied. The composer visited Poland nine times during his lifetime and lived over there for a total of three years and one month which seemed to be a quite considerable part of his life. In the thesis, using the microhistorical analysis and the cultural commentary principle, the Polish period of M. Glinka's life was explored at a new level, and the significance of everyday life in Warsaw in his biography was objectively and scientifically interpreted.
