The aim of the dissertation is to study and generalize the linguistic features of compressed texts of the Ukrainian mass media discourse. These texts are common in modern communication due to their pragmatic characteristics: short volume, quick memorization, visual and cognitive attractiveness. The object of research is compressed texts of the Ukrainian mass media discourse of different genres. Research methods include general science ones (empirical, comparative; methods of deduction and induction, method of quantitative calculations among them) and linguistic ones (linguistic observation and analysis (descriptive), contextual-situational analysis of discourse, component analysis). The theoretical significance of the dissertation determines that the obtained conclusions and generalizations will contribute to deeper investigations of the discursive paradigm of linguistic knowledge, solving modern issues of theory and analysis of text and discourse. The dissertation facilitates the understanding of the latest changes in the structure and form of the text caused by the use of information technology and mediatization of society. The practical value is that the collected and analyzed factual material, observations and conclusions can be implemented in the practice of higher education in courses of stylistics of the modern Ukrainian language and text interpretation, theory of communication and cognitive linguistics, journalism. The explained problems will help to rethink the approaches to composing texts in the media with an emphasis on non-traditional and attractive presentation of the material.
The study led to such effective innovations: the compressed media text is characterized as a communicative phenomenon in which linguistic compression is implemented through the use of various linguistic means: graphic, morphological, syntactic, lexical, semantic, stylistic; the constant features of a concise media text include increased information condensation, reduced information structure, the use of language compression means; such specific leading characteristics of compressed media texts as reduced information structure, mosaic text composition structure, violation of language norms (word-forming, punctuation, stylistic ones), multimodality were revealed; the genre representation of compressed mass media texts is analyzed that includes informational, analytical, fiction-publicistic, advertising, entertaining types, among them the Internet genres were distinguished; the individual features of these genres have been studied on television and on the Internet; it is proposed to introduce the term "media service text" into the sphere of linguistics usage and the genre varieties of such texts and their functions were determined.
