Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the actual issue of increasing the efficiency of long-term preparation of athletes at the first stage. The inconformity of training process structure and content at the first stage of long-term improvement to modern trends of sports practice was revealed. The inexpediency of goal-oriented preparation of track and field athletes for the Youth Olympic Games, World Youth Championships is shown and confirmed, the probability of repeating or exceeding the achievement is extremely small and ranges from 0 to 11.11%. A statistically significant model has been designed, which allows predicting the age of athlete's highest achievements depending on the age of the first notable successes. The reasons influencing the retirement of track and field athletes from sport have been identified: accelerated training of children, adolescents and young people; sports injuries of young athletes; coach competence; inadequate conditions for transition from youth to elite sport; lack of progress; use of banned drugs; inadequate conditions for transition from mass sport to specialized preparation; role of parents and the influence of friends. Scientific provisions have been developed and new data in athletics have been obtained and substantiated, which solve the important problem of athlete preparation at the first stage of long-term improvement with account for the specifics of track and field jumps, age development, peculiarities of the modern stage of sport development, and are helpful for sports practice contributing to systematic development of mastery for realization of individual inclinations of athletes within the optimal age zone for the highest achievements.
