Kochina A. Formation of Passenger Flows in Suburban Traffic by Road Transport. - Qualifying scientific work on the rights of the manuscript. The thesis for a PhD degree in Technical Sciences, speciality 05.22.01 – Transport Systems (275 – Transport Technologies (on Road Transport). – Kharkiv National Auto-mobile and Highway University, Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, Kharkiv, 2020. The dissertation is dedicated to the decision of a scientific-applied problem of definition of requirements in transportations by public motor transport in suburban communication based on the distribution laws of trip distances. The work defines the relationship between the distance to the city and the intensity of public transport and the characteristics of settlements. The regularities in the spatial location of public transport infrastructure in suburban areas, which are a continuation of the regularities on the territory of cities with different population sizes, have been obtained. They became the basis for determining the regularities of the spatial distribution of the trip distances in suburban communication. The calculation method of the passenger OD matrix in the suburban traffic on the basis of the trip length distribution is developed, which allows obtaining the most probable states of the matrix due to their correspondence with the actual distribution of commuters' trip lengths. Practical meaningfulness of results consists of development of methodology of determination of demand on transportations by a public transport, that allows to perfect organization of passenger transportations in a suburban report and can be used for the needs of transport enterprises, managements, research organizations.
