Piatnytska V. Professor S.F. Veselovskyi – is a scientist, organizer of agricultural science and education in Ukraine in the first third of the 20th century

The dissertation is devoted to a comprehensive study of the creative parth of the scientist, organizer of agricultural science and education in Ukraine, public activist in the first third of the 20th century – Professor Serhii Feofanovych Veselovskyi. The preconditions and key factors of formation of his scientist`t work outlook are revealed. The periodization of the formation and development of the scientist`t creative path in accordance with the most important events of life and scientific activity in 1900-1931 is proposed. The contribution of the scientist to the domestic agricultural science and agriculture is revealed him. The scientist`t contribution to the domestic agricultural science in higher education institutions and research institutions of Ukraine is revealed. Analyzing the scientific and popular science works of S.F. Veselovskyi clarified the directions of scientific research of the scientist: the impact of war and drought on agriculture in Ukraine in the first half of 1920th;determining the state of the sugar industry and the problems of its state regulation; agricultural zoning of Ukraine; scientific organization of labor in agriculture of the country. The scientific heritage of Professor S. F. Veselovskyi is analyzed and systematized. A number of unknown and little-known archival materials and scientific works of the scientist have been introduced into scientific circulation.
