The paper comprehensively examines the theoretical and applied issues related to the appeal and review of the decisions of the investigating judge, delivered during the pre-trial investigation. The foreign experience of appeal and reviewing court decisions delivered at the stage of pre-trial investigation were studied. European standards of appeal and reviewing court decisions delivered at the pre-trial investigation stage were analyzed. The peculiarities of the procedural mechanism of reviewing the decisions of the investigating judge delivered at the stage of pre-trial investigation are described. On the basis of the conducted research and generalization of law enforcement practice, the shortcomings of legal regulation of the procedural order were revealed by appealing and reviewing the decisions of the investigating judge delivered during the pre-trial investigation, scientifically substantiated suggestions aimed at improving the current criminal procedural legislation were formulated.
