The thesis is devoted to theoretical and methodological principles of professionally important qualities formation of future IT-professionals in a technical university educational environment.
The main features of a technical university educational environment are determined. They comprise integration of educational, scientific and innovative vocational activities; harmonic interaction with the high-tech labour market; communication, which leads to the participation of all actors in modeling the educational process.
As a result of the research, the concepts of “professionally important qualities of future IT-specialists” and “technical university educational environment” have been specified. Professionally important qualities of future IT-specialists are regarded as a system of integrated characteristics, abilities and properties, which must be present in a person for the successful and effective performance of his/her professional functions in dynamic and innovative professional activities, achieving a high level of professional competence in the process of personal growth, improvement and developing his/her competitiveness in a new professional, social and intercultural environment.
The organizational and pedagogical conditions of forming professionally important qualities of future IT-specialists in a technical university educational environment, which are the system-forming core of the structural and functional model, have been determined and substantiated, namely: development of students’ positive internal motivation to the educational and future professional activities; integration of the content of the vocational training and foreign language teaching on the basis of studying a foreign language of professional and communicative purposes; formation of an integrated personal and developmental educational environment with the use of information and communication technologies, interactive teaching methods taking into account the updated functions of a teacher of higher technical institution (tutor, facilitator, designer, consultant, communicator, etc.); adaptation and use of didactic and methodological tools for the formation of components of professionally important qualities through the introduction of mobile technologies.
The structural and functional model of forming professionally important qualities of future IT specialists in a technical university educational environment is developed and its efficiency is experimentally checked. The following interrelated constituent blocks of the model have been identified: methodology-and- aim-oriented (goal, methodological approaches, principles, factors of a technical university educational environment, affecting the effectiveness of the formation of professionally important qualities), procedure-and-content-oriented (organizational and pedagogical conditions, content, stages, methods, means, forms of education), resultative and evaluative (criteria and levels of formation of professionally important qualities, reflexive approach to learning outcome).
The criteria (value-motivational, cognitive-informational, operational-technological, social-communicative and personal-reflexive) and indicators aimed at measuring the levels of forming professionally important qualities of future IT-specialists in a technical university educational environment (reproductive, productive, creative) have been defined and diagnostic tools have been selected.
The effectiveness of the process of forming professionally important qualities of future IT specialists in the technical university educational environment has been tested experimentally. The main results of the study are introduced into the educational process for the professional training of future IT-specialists at technical high educational institutions in Ukraine.
