Mozharivska A. Medical and social substantiation of the conceptual model of gender equality in health care of Ukraine.

The dissertation is devoted to the scientific substantiation, development and implementation of an conceptual model of gender equlity in health care of Ukraine. It aims to integrate gender equality into health care and ensure equal opportunities for men and women to receive health services according to their needs. The substantiated and developed conceptual model of gender equality in health care of Ukraine consists of five interconnected blocks: legal component, organizational structure of health care, scientific and educational components, interest of the population in preservation of personal health and carrying out monitoring and assessments of gender equality on the basis of defined indicators One of the key innovations of the model is to improve the organizational structure of the health care system, which is based on providing equal opportunities for men and women in receiving health care services, including reproductive health. To this end, a qualitatively new medical structure has been created - the Center for Men’s Health with the functioning of new specialists - andrologists, who will provide a full range of reproductive health services for men. The information basis of the model is the scientific and educational components. Medical and scientific research on the gender characteristics of men's and women's health, including the study of factors that cause inequality in the provision of health services; will help raise awareness and awareness of industry professionals on this issue, which will respond more effectively to the special needs of women and men in health and provide quality health services. A qualitatively new element of the model for the implementation of the principle of gender equality is the interest of the population in maintaining personal health. The legal basis of the conceptual model, which is aimed at improving the national legal framework for gender issues in health care, was the development of the State Program for Gender Equality in Health Care. The introduction of the proposed conceptual model of gender equality in health care will, in contrast to the current situation, eliminate the identified shortcomings in the provision of health services to men and women, thus improving the overall health of the population.
