This dissertation focuses on the issue of enhancing readiness of Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) officer-trainees for professional activity in military lyceums. The study presents the theoretical and methodical validation and the results of experimental verification of the model of fostering readiness of officers-trainees for professional activity in military lyceums. It also reveals the pedagogical issue related to fostering readiness of the UAF officer-trainees for professional activity in military lyceums. This issue covers several directions of fundamental researches in philosophical, psychological and pedagogical, military special, military pedagogical literature, legislative and regulatory support of military education and activity in the area of education and advancing patriotism in military lyceums and lyceums with enhanced military physical training. The readiness of the UAF officer-trainees for the professional activity and service in the military lyceum is the result of holistic personal education and professional training, which ensures the transition to a qualitatively new form of life for the cadet and is a set of interdependent and interconnected components: motivational-valuable, cognitive and reflexive. The officer’s pedagogical competence at the tactical level of training is ensured by promoting a set of components (motivational-valuable, professionalpedagogical, professional-personal, managerial, sociocultural, self-improving) and their corresponding indicators, the combination of which reflects readiness of officer-trainees for educational and training activities among subordinates, as well as their readiness for professional and pedagogical activities as military commanders. The pedagogical competence of tactical level officers is developed in the course of pedagogical training, involving mastering a definite volume of theoretical knowledge, acquisition of the necessary practical pedagogical skills and abilities determined by the content of special pedagogical training. The pedagogical system of enhancing readiness of officer-trainees for professional service in military lyceums is a dynamic complex of dialectically interconnected components and factors creating optimal conditions needed to the resolve issues of training and education of cadets as future officers, depending on the relevant modern social tasks of nurturing a young generation of patriots of Ukraine ready for military service. Elements of the system of professional training of officer-trainees for professional service in military lyceums include such aspects of training as theoretical, psychological and pedagogical, psychophysical and practical. Pedagogical conditions for enhancing readiness of the UAF officer-trainees for professional activity incorporate the creating a professionally-oriented educational environment in higher military educational establishments via modular training, verification of the content of training the UAF officer-trainees for future educational activities of military lyceums. This training is based on such academic disciplines as «Scientific Vision of the World» and «Pedagogy and Military Training» which consider the objectives, tasks, principles, methods and specific features of targeted readiness of the UAF officer to perform military service in military lyceums. Other pedagogical conditions encompass interdisciplinary links between academic disciplines creating a favourable environment for a systematic professional training of officer-trainees training, maintaining motivation in making the UAF officers ready for future service in military lyceums, employing interactive teaching methods, namely role and business games to simulate real professional activity plays within an educational establishment. The professional model of the formation of professional readiness of the AFU future officers to ensure the educational and training process in military lyceums considers being a comprehensive program comprised of four main components (blocks): purpose-oriented, substantive and practical, functional, diagnostic and effective blocks, providing a better understanding of the purposeoriented educational process in the higher educational establishment.
