Object – semantic content, structure and verbal presentation of the concept TURKEY in the Russian language picture of the world; goal – to establish the content, structure and features of the verbal realization of the concept TURKEY in the modern Russian language picture of the world; methods – method of analysis and synthesis, empirical methods, method of conceptual analysis, method of frames, method of dictionary definitions, method of component analysis of the word meaning, method of discursive analysis, contrastive method, method of informants interviewing, descriptive method, method of imagological interpretation, method of quantitative analysis; novelty – the object of study is the concept TURKEY, which is insufficiently developed in modern linguistics, but relevant to the Russian language consciousness and language culture; the dynamics of the content of the concept depending on the nature of socio-political relations between Russia and Turkey is shown; the variability of the content of the conceptual field with regard to the sphere of life and the type of discourse is established; the scope of the concept TURKEY and the content of its components in the everyday consciousness of Russians are determined; suggested ways to correct the image of Turkey during the education of Russian children in the Turkish schools; results – the possibility of applying theoretical principles in the development of courses in modern Russian, Russian stylistics, journalism, courses on cognitive linguistics, lingual-cultural studies, imagology; when compiling linguistic dictionaries; field – philology.
