Essay

The aim of this dissertation is an exposure and description of phraseological picture of the world of Russian dialects of the South of Ukraine carriers through complex systematization and verification of the phraseological fund of the Russian island dialects of the South of Ukraine, its linguo-, ethnolinguocultural and lexicographic characteristics, based on code spaces and linguocultural codes as a clot of the cultural values expressed by language means. The object of research is phrasemics of the Russian island dialects of the South of Ukraine, namely that part, which formally and/or semantically differs from phrasemics of the literary Russian language. Research methods are connected with a principle of the complex system approach with the use of such methods as a method of phraseological identification, questionnaire, verbal questioning and observation (included and not included); method of the structural and semantic modeling, method of correlation of integral value of phraseological unit and its components with the signs of semiotic spheres of culture, semiotic analysis, semiotic method of oppositions; method of linguo- and ethnolinguocultural interpretations, basing on analysis of language material with bringing in of knowledge from history, culture, customs, ceremonies, beliefs, social organization of society that is studied; conceptual analysis that includes etymological and definitive and component ones; Descriptive, comparable and quantitative methods are used also. The theoretical value of the dissertation is in a grounding, using and further inculcating of linguo- and ethnolinguocultural method in phraseological researches, and also in that the phraseological fund of the Russian island dialects of the South of Ukraine, during over two hundred years functioning in multicultural and multilingual surroundings out of touch with the basic language array of "maternal" dialects, is a unique object for study and reconstruction of not only regional but also national and international pictures of the world. In addition, to scientific terminological system the wide empiric material, greater part of that (75 %) to this time has not been investigated, is entered. The practical value is in possible using research results in fundamental developments of folk speech by academic establishments and establishments of higher education, that study problems of Slavic linguistics, Russian linguistics, cross-cultural and interlingual communication, history of linguistics, cognitive linguistics, linguo- and ethnolinguoculturology, general and regional phraseology and phraseography. Experimental part of the thesis serves to further development of ethnolinguocultural method in phraseological researches. Original author’s conception of regional phraseological dictionary is realized in the published «Фразеологический словарь русских говоров Одесщины» (Odesa, 2020). Research results can be used in lecture and practical courses on Russian dialectology, linguoculturology, ethnolinguistics, special courses on phraseology, lexico- and phraseography, lingosemiotics, comparable phonetics, lexicology and grammar, methodology of teaching of languages to the foreigners; in practice of cross-cultural communication. The study led to the following effective innovations: first in home and foreign linguistics revealed, verified, defined semantics, systematized and characterized the phraseological fund of the Russian migrant dialects of the South of Ukraine, carried out its linguocultural and lexicographic description. A valuable contribution to development of the Ukrainian researches, dedicated to study of Russian language is an including in scientific terminology the concept of a code space, within the limits of that linguocultural codes are grouped, and exposure of linguo- and ethnolinguocultural originality of the phraseology of the Russian migrant dialects of the South of Ukraine, first of all of Odessa region, on the basis of the worked out classification. On the base of the large language material it is well-proven, that a phraseological fund of the Russian dialects of the South of Ukraine, which to this time has not been investigated purposefully, is a valuable source of linguo- and ethnolinguocultural information, exposure and description of that in home and foreign linguistics is carried out first.
