Essay

The object of the research is the polydiscursivity of modern Russian prose and the mechanisms of creating polydiscursivity (interdiscursivity, metadiscursivity, intermediality, variable signs); aim is to give a theoretical confirmation for the concept of polydiscursivity; to compare the theory of polydiscursivity with the M. M. Bakhtin’s theory of polyphony; to substantiate the differences between polydiscursivity, interdiscursivity and metadiscursivity; to determine the role of polydiscursivity in the formation of polyphonic utterances; to establish and to classify the mechanisms that give rise to a polydiscursive expression; to describe the linguistic material of modern Russian prose, which revealed how various mechanisms are creating polydiscursivity; to determine the pragmatic and semantic content of the literary fragments, which were analyzed; methods – cognitive discursive, semiotic (social semiotics, pragmatics), continuous selection, the method of interpretation, structural methods, the method of critical discourse analysis; novelty – for the first time methodological bases for studying polydiscursivity of modern literary text are defined, discursive mechanisms providing functioning and replication of this discursive phenomenon are revealed, correlation between nonlinear discourse based on synergy principle and literary discourse of non-classical paradigm is disclosed, the potential of polydiscursivity associated with the expansion of word semantics, self-reference, succession of discursive frames is described, etc.; outcomes of the research – deepen existing and form new knowledge about the modern literary discourse of non-classical paradigm, expand the idea of the discursive conditionality of the pragmatic and semantic structure of the text, open prospects for the new studies on the problems of constituting the literary discourse of non-classical paradigm; the processed factual material and theoretical base can be used for educational purposes, namely in courses on the theory and philosophy of language, on special courses in discourse, cognitive linguistics and cultural linguistics; the field of study – philology.
