Essay

The object of research is the reaction rate and level of adaptability of selection lines of winter wheat for valuable economic characteristics under the influence of abiotic and biotic factors, differentiating ability of the environment, organization of multidisciplinary tests at the final stage of selection process, complex statistical evaluation of genotypes. Research methods - general scientific. The thesis presents theoretical substantiation and new solution of current scientific problem on revealing features of determination of adaptability in winter bread wheat breeding lines as well as identifying genotypes with high yield and stability when using integrated assessment in multi-environmental testing under environment of the central part of Ukrainian Forest-Steppe. The level of adaptability and the rate of response of breeding lines for valuable agronomic characteristics depending on the influence of abiotic and biotic factors are established. The peculiarities of the influence of genotype and environmental factors on the variability of yield and differentiating ability of environments are revealed, the approaches to assessing the adaptability of genotypes at the final stages of the breeding process are optimized. It was proved the expediency of using integrated index “rating of variety adaptability” (RVA) for a set of traits that is determined when taking into account the averaged value and parameters of adaptability for individual traits for in-depth assessment of breeding lines and selection of the best ones as candidates for varieties. Based on integrated RVA index the top five breeding lines of winter wheat with increased productive and adaptive potential were selected. The lines have been submitted to the Qualification Examination of Ukrainian Institute for Plant Variety Examination as new varieties Berehynia myronіvska, Hospodynia myronіvska, Trudivnytsia myronіvska, Hratsiia myronіvska, MIP Vyshyvanka and included in the State Register of plant varieties suitable for dissemination in Ukraine in 2016–2018.
