Sichova O. Formation and development of the system of archival fonds of scientific institutions of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (1968–2018)

The dissertation examines the process of creation, evolution and current state of the network of archives of scientific institutions of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, documenting their activities. The specifics of fonding of archival documents of scientific institutions of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the documentary content of fonds, methods of describing documents and the formation of archival directories have been studied. The content of the reference apparatus of archives of institutions and its role in fulfilling public needs in the search for information of archival documents are analyzed. The results of the study can be used in the practice of the NAS of Ukraine and its institutions to create optimal conditions for the accumulation and storage of retrospective information about academic science and organization of access to documentary information and in the scientific work of the Institute of Archival Studies of V. I. Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine to optimize archival fonds and increasing the informativeness of the reference apparatus to archival documents.
